Workshop Overview

Oct 14, 2011 Native Parent Advocacy & Empowerment Day

Parents/grandparents/guardians of Native children are invited to attend an exciting day devoted to the advocacy and empowerment of our children’s caretakers. This will take place on Friday, October 14, 2011, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, at Chief Leschi Schools and will feature keynote speakers and panel presentations on the following topics:

Parents as advocates in advancing Native Children’s Agenda (teambuilding, relationship building, etc.)
Parents as the first and most important teachers of their children
Conversations/insights from teachers and practitioners (preschool to high school)
Promoting healthy living through Native culture & language
